By the Word of His Power

Genesis 1:9

Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:11

Then God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:14, 15

Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

Genesis 1:24

Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind”; and it was so.

Hebrews 1:1-3a

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.

Colossians 1:15-17

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

When God said then it was so because He upholds all things by the word of His power and in Him all things hold together.

It is by the word of His power that the Universe was brought into existence.

It is by the word of His power that the plants and trees grow and bear fruit.

It is by the word of His power that the sun and stars shine in the expanse of the heavens.

It is by the word of His power that the earth brought forth living creatures.

So…

You and I are here today because God said and it was so, because God upholds all things by the word of His power and because in Him all things hold together.
