Solomon

Luke 24:27
Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

Jesus can be found everywhere in the pictures and shadows of the Scriptures, if we just look for Him.

King Solomon was one of the wisest men to have ever lived. Kings from all over the land came to see Solomon and they marveled at his wisdom…

1 Kings 4:29, 30, 34
Now God gave Solomon wisdom and very great discernment and breadth of mind, like the sand that is on the seashore. Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the sons of the east and all the wisdom of Egypt.

Men came from all peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.

Solomon was a picture or shadow of things to come. Solomon was a picture of Jesus who would become the fulfillment of that shadow…

Luke 20:21-26
They questioned Him, saying, “Teacher, we know that You speak and teach correctly, and You are not partial to any, but teach the way of God in truth. “Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?” But He detected their trickery and said to them, “Show Me a denarius. Whose likeness and inscription does it have?” They said, “Caesar’s.” And He said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” And they were unable to catch Him in a saying in the presence of the people; and being amazed at His answer, they became silent.

Jesus’ wisdom dumb-founded the religious leaders of His day. They were amazed at His answers and became silent in His presence.

Matthew 12:42
“The Queen of the South will rise up with this generation at the judgment and will condemn it, because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, something greater than Solomon is here.”

So…

Have you seen Jesus in the shadow of the Scriptures?
