For the sake of argument let’s suppose it’s a hot fudge sundae. And the question is do you know how to make a hot fudge sundae? Do you know the ingredients and recipe that go into making a hot fudge sundae?

In this analogy Jesus is the Hot Fudge Sundae and the Scriptures are the ingredients and recipe which tells us who Jesus is and what He has done…

All parents probably know how to make a hot fudge sundae, not just for themselves but for their children as well…

Deuteronomy 6:6, 7

There is no substitute for the Scriptures - not Christian music, not your favorite devotional, not some clever anecdote someone posted on their Facebook wall, not even your pastor or rabbi’s sermon.

There is no substitute for the Scriptures and you and I must learn to read, study and meditate on them…
