Press On

Philippians 3:12

Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.

Paul tells us that we are to press on in our faith and our pursuit of Jesus.

Matthew 13:3-8

And He spoke many things to them in parables, saying, “Behold, the sower went out to sow; and as he sowed, some seeds fell beside the road, and the birds came and ate them up. Others fell on the rocky places, where they did not have much soil; and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of soil. But when the sun had risen, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. Others fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them out. And others fell on the good soil and yielded a crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty.”

Unfortunately, many believers give up when things get tough or don’t go their way. They just fall by the wayside never achieving the things which the Lord had wanted to give them.

Matthew 7:7

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

Jesus says that if we seek something we will find it. However, it may take months, years or even a lifetime before that door is finally opened.

And so we must press on and not give up.

Matthew 24:13

“But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.”

So…
