In Awe

Modern day Astronomers say that there are 100 billion galaxies in the visible Universe and that each galaxy contains 100 billion stars.

That’s 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars.

Psalms 33:6 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

The heavens were made by the word of the LORD, and all the stars, by the breath of His mouth.

The writer of this Psalm says that the Lord created all of the stars.

Think about that for a moment.

The writer of this Psalm is not exaggerating nor is he using poetic license. When the Psalmist says that the Lord created all of the stars, he means that the Lord created ALL of the stars.

And if that doesn’t cause you and me to take pause and stand in awe of the Lord, what will?

Matthew 10:29

“Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.”

Jesus says that the Father knows when a sparrow falls to the ground.

Think about that for a moment.

Jesus is not exaggerating nor is He using poetic license. When Jesus says that the Father knows when a sparrow falls to the ground, He means that the Father KNOWS when a sparrow falls to the ground.

And if that doesn’t cause you and me to take pause and stand in awe of the Father, what will?
