The Furnace of Blazing Fire

Daniel 3:19, 20, 24, 25

Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with wrath, and his facial expression was altered toward Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego. He answered by giving orders to heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. He commanded certain valiant warriors who were in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego in order to cast them into the furnace of blazing fire.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astounded and stood up in haste; he said to his high officials, “Was it not three men we cast bound into the midst of the fire?” They replied to the king, “Certainly, O king.” He said, “Look! I see four men loosed and walking about in the midst of the fire without harm, and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods!”

Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego were cast into the furnace of blazing fire which is a picture or metaphor for the world in which you and I live today.

John 17:14, 15

“I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one.”

Jesus says that even though you and I are not of this world we will not be taken out of this world - we will not be taken out of the furnace of blazing fire.

But the good news is as you and I walk through the furnace Jesus is with us walking about in the midst of the fire protecting us from it’s consuming heat just as He protected Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego.

So…

Is Jesus walking with you in the blazing furnace of this world?
