Stay and Leave

John 4:17-19, 29, 30, 39, 40
The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I have no husband’; for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly.” The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.

So the woman left her waterpot, and went into the city and said to the men, “Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done; this is not the Christ, is it?” They went out of the city, and were coming to Him.

From that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all the things that I have done.” So when the Samaritans came to Jesus, they were asking Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.

There were times when Jesus performed signs and wonders and the people asked Him to stay…

Matthew 8:31-34
The demons began to entreat Him, saying, “If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of swine.” And He said to them, “Go!” And they came out and went into the swine, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and perished in the waters. The herdsmen ran away, and went to the city and reported everything, including what had happened to the demoniacs. And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and when they saw Him, they implored Him to leave their region.

And there were times when Jesus performed signs and wonders and the people asked Him to leave.

There will be times in your life and my life that when we speak of Jesus we will be asked to stay. And there will be times when we speak of Jesus that we will be asked to leave.

So…

Have you spoken of Jesus?

Have you been asked to stay?
