Job’s Revelation
Then Job answered the LORD and said, “I know that You can do all things, and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted. ‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’ “Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.” ‘Hear, now, and I will speak; I will ask You, and You instruct me.’ “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye sees You;”
Before Job’s trial he had only - “heard of You by the hearing of the ear.”
After Job’s trial - “but now my eye sees You.”
And what was it that Job saw? - “things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.”
The Father may bring trials and hardships into our lives and His purpose for doing this is to show us wonderful things which we do not know - things which we could never have known otherwise.
The Father desires to reveal to us His awesome power, majesty, wisdom, splendor, beauty and love. But to do this He sometimes has to get our undivided attention.
James 1:12
Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
So…
Have you only heard of the Lord by the hearing of the ear?
Or have your eyes seen Him?
